Shockwave Therapy
Definition of Shockwave Therapy: Shockwave Therapy is also referred to as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy. This treatment is non-invasive that uses the body's natural healing abilities to treat musculoskeletal conditions such as plantar fasciitis but is not limited.
Shockwave is used to help:
- Stimulate Healing
- Breakdown scar tissue
- Target Treatment on injury area
Contraindications:
- Pregnancy
- Blood Clotting Disorder
- Tumors/Infections at the treatment site
- Pacemakers/Other Implanted Devices
- Open Wounds/Recent Surgical Wounds
- Treatment Over air filled areas
- Children under 18 years of age/open growth plates
- Recent corticosteroid injections
- Severe Coagulaopathy
- Certain medications (anticoagulants, NSAID)
There is a consent form that all patients need to sign before treatment.
